FYS PEER LEADER
Teaching First Year Seminar (FYS) 101—a course designed to help new students navigate their transition to Syracuse—was an experience that deeply moved me. Planning activities, building connections, and seeing students grow over those weeks was incredibly rewarding. Though FYS isn’t usually a favorite, hearing my students say our sessions felt like a refreshing break made every moment worth it.

BRASA
Before coming to Syracuse, I was nervous about finding a support system. I worried that no one would share my culture, my customs, or understand the huge transition I was facing. But then I found BRASA, and gradually, it became one of the most fulfilling parts of my life here. I love advocating for my culture, whether through bake sales, campus events, or hosting a welcoming ‘churrasco’ that brings people together. BRASA is more than a club—it’s a community that reminds me of home and lets me share that warmth with others.

TNH AD AGENCY
When I first came to Syracuse, I was lost—unsure of my major and struggling to adjust to a new country. But everything changed when I switched to Advertising at Newhouse. I quickly fell in love with the field, and joining TNH, the student-run ad agency, took that passion to a new level. Working on a campaign for Locked On Syracuse with my peers was not only exciting but also gave me hands-on experience in the advertising process. Applying what I learned in class to real projects reaffirmed that this is exactly what I want to do. I’m so grateful to be part of a team that fuels my growth and drives my love for the industry.
BAKED MAGAZINE
From my first year on campus, I’ve been captivated by the world of student publications. Discovering Baked was a game-changer—it seamlessly merged my love for food, media, and magazines. It also provided the perfect platform to refine my photography skills, which are a true passion of mine. Working with Baked was an unforgettable experience, and I had a blast every step of the way.
VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
AMIGOS DO BEM
During my gap year, I worked with a non-profit that empowers communities in rural Brazil through education, income generation, and access to essential resources like water, housing, and healthcare. This experience opened my eyes to the privileges I often take for granted, like the ability to study what I’m passionate about in a different country. It was humbling and deeply enriching, leaving me with a new sense of gratitude and perspective. I will forever be thankful for the chance to contribute to such meaningful work.
